Interrupted Cry Against Sleeping (POEM)

Psalms 51:10 - "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

If I didn't sleep
I would have more time
To pick up, put down,
and make the world mine

If I didn't sleep
could work twice as long
play twice as hard
be three times as strong

If I didn't sleep
I could visit the moon
learn to calculate
fix up my croon

If I didn't sleep
I could read libraries
make my betterment of self
my task primary

If I didn't sleep
and put my nose to the stone
could solve the world's problems
'for I reach hunned-one

But if I didn't sleep
wouldn't know what I need
cuz if I didn't sleep
I would never dream
